WILL KENGOR NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TRAVERSE CITY, MI The Traverse City Beach Bums are proud to announce that shortstop, Will Kengor, has been named the Frontier League Player of the Week.
In six games against the Florence Freedom and Normal Cornbelters, Will picked up at least one hit in each game, going 13 for 26, a .500 batting average, with three home runs, four doubles, a triple, eight runs batted in, and four runs scored, helping the Beach Bums to a 4-2 record this week. All three homers came in Sundays road win over the Cornbelters. Overall, Pittsburgh native is hitting .349, which is fourth in the league, with 11 home runs, which is tied for second , and a league most 50 runs batted in. He also is tied for second in the league with 16 doubles and is on his way to Joliet for his second consecutive All-Star starting nod, joining Steven Patterson on the East division squad.
Coming back from the All-Star break, the Beach Bums return to Wuerfel Park on Friday, July 14th, for Alzheimers awareness night. Help us paint the park purple and bring awareness to one of the leading diseases that affects Americans today.
