LOPEZ GEM NOT ENOUGH IN LOSS TO NORMAL

TRAVERSE CITY, MI – The Traverse City Beach Bums(23-32) left ten men on base, falling tonight against the Normal Cornbelters(27-29), by a final score of 1-0.

For the second night in a row, Normal took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, tonight on a groundout by Nolan Meadows. The Beach Bums best chance to score came in the fifth, when DeBlieux was thrown out at the plate trying to score from second on a Alexis Rivera single.

Normal’s Sixto Torres picked up the win with an up-and-down performance. He went six innings and walked six but struck out eight, helping him get out of trouble a number of times. He improves to 1-1.
