Sauget IL -- The Frontier League has chosen the Beach Bums All-Star 1B Chase Burch to be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the 2017 All-Star Banquet, hosted this year by the Joliet Slammers in Joliet IL. The festivities run from July 10th through the 13th, with the Hall of Fame & All-Star banquet on July 12th. The Banquet will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Joliet Union Station with guest speaker Bobby Dernier (1984 Gold Glove Winner for the NL East Division Champion Chicago Cubs).
Burch played for the Beach Bums from 2010-2013 posting a career .283 batting average, with 68 home runs and 285 RBI. He was a mid-season All-Star in 2010, 2012 and 2013 as well as the 2012 Post-Season All-Star 1B. He tied for the Frontier League lead in RBI in 2010 and was 3rd in home runs. In 2013 he tied for 2nd in RBI.
He will be inducted with Gator McBride, Chillicothe Paints 1998-1999; Pete Pireman, Evansville Otters 2002, Richmond Roosters 2003, Kalamazoo Kings 2004-06; Travis Garcia, Ohio Valley Redcoats 2005, Chillicothe Paints 2006-08. Burch is the first Beach Bum to be nominated to the Frontier League Hall of Fame.*
The Frontier League is celebrating its 25th season in 2017 and will be honoring the first day of play June 30, 1993 as the Hall of Fame Special Moment.
