SAUGET, IL— The Gateway Grizzlies hit back-to-back-to-back home runs as they took the first game of a three-game series with a 7-2 victory over the Traverse City Beach Bums in front of 3,125 fans at GCS Ballpark.

Traverse City opened the scoring in the third inning with a solo home run from right fielder Jason Codiroli to make it 1-0. In the fourth, Gateway got three straight home runs to give the Grizzlies all the offense they needed. A two-run home run from designated hitter Charlie Lisk, and solo shots from center fielder Joe Agreste and catcher Landon Hernandez off Beach Bums starter Justin Mazur gave Gateway a 4-1 lead.

In the eighth, Hernandez struck again by launching a two-run homer, ending the scoring in the ballgame and giving the Grizzlies a 7-2 lead. Hernandez had three hits and drove in four runs to lead Gateway in the contest.
