GAME ONE GOES TO THE LAKE ERIE CRUSHERS
The Lake Erie Crushers(40-44) put
together an 18 hit attack after a rain delay that saw the first game shifted to Wednesday afternoon, and the second game delayed by an hour and 10 minutes. The final score of the Tuesday night contest was 10-4.
The Beach Bums got on the board first when Luke
Lowery hit a solo blast to lead off the second. It was his second homer
of the season. Lake Erie snagged the lead the next inning on an RBI double by
Sean Hurley, and an RBI single by Jordan Dean. In the fourth, Lake Erie doubled
their advantage on a 2-run single by Tyler Urps.
After a scoreless fifth, Lake Erie broke the game open in the
sixth. Brandon Murray and Connor Oliver hit back-to-back solo home runs, Sean
Hurley hit an RBI single, Conner Simonetti walked with the bases loaded, Cody
Lenahan hit an RBI single, and Bryan DeLaRosa hit a sacfly. 10 men came to the
plate, giving the Crushers a 10-1 lead.
The Beach Bums put together a rally in the eighth, when
Quintin Alexander drew a one-out walk. Jeff
DeBlieux then grounded to third but the throw to first got away,
putting Alexander at third and DeBlieux at second. After Orlando
Rivera walked to load the bases, Steven Patterson was
hit by a pitch for the Bums’ first run. Luke Lowery followed
with a sacrifice fly and Alexis Rivera hit an RBI single, but
that’s as close as Traverse City would come.
Adam Quintana got the win for Lake Erie, striking out eight in
seven and a third innings. He gave up just one earned run on five hits and two
walks to improve to 4-4. Kramer Champlin drops to 7-7 with
tonight’s loss after he went five innings, giving up six runs on 13 hits while

August 10th against the Lake Erie Crushers, picking up in the top of
the 5th with the Crushers leading 1-0 and completing the 9 inning game. The
