In the bottom of the third, Jeff DeBlieux walked then stole second with one out. Two batters later, he scored the Bums’ first run on a Will Kengor RBI double. Alexis Rivera followed with an RBI single to score Kengor and pull Traverse City within one.

In the fifth, Florence regained a two run cushion on a Taylor Oldham RBI double. Josh Hauser led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a single in to center. DeBlieux and Steven Patterson each followed by reaching on fielder’s choices. Kengor stepped up with two away and singled to right, moving Patterson to third then Rivera got his second RBI hit of the game to move the Bums’ deficit to one. Although they threatened in the eighth, Traverse City could not complete the comeback.
