TRAVERSE CITY, MI – The Traverse City Beach Bums(6-11) were poised to salvage the final game of the three game series, leading after six innings, but the River City Rascals(10-7) scored six runs in the final three innings to win, 7-2.


Jason Ziegler started for River City and allowed both Bums runs on three hits. Michael Gunn earned the win in relief for River City to improve to 1-0. Kramer Champlin, with another solid start, lasted into the seventh inning, only allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out four. He suffers the hard-luck loss, dropping to 1-2.


The Beach Bums will now hit the road as they head to UC Health Stadium in Kentucky to take on the Florence Freedom in a three game set. Dylan Stoop will try to end this three game skid for the Beach Bums and it will be Zach Isler to take the hill for Florence. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm and Tom Willms will have the call on 101.9FM - The Bay, starting at 6:45pm with the Miller Lite Pre-Game Show.
