BEACH BUMS DROP GAME TWO VS WILD THINGS
PA – The
Traverse City Beach Bums’(17-23) got the tying run on-deck in the ninth but fell
to the Washington Wild Things(23-17), 6-1.
Much like last night, an early three-run home run got things
rolling for the Wild Things. Tonight, it came in the first inning off of the bat
of Hector Roa. In the fifth, Justin Bohn hit an RBI double then, in the sixth,
John Fidanza drove in two with a single, giving Washington a six run
In the ninth, Kendall Patrick led off with a walk and Alexis Rivera
drove him to third with a single to right. John Montgomery hit a chopper over
the mound for an RBI infield single, scoring Patrick. Nick Patrick then walked,
loading the bases with nobody out. Brook Clark though check-swung into a double
play essentially ending the comeback attempt.
Brian O’Keefe earned the win for Washington to improve to 2-2 on
the season. He hurled seven shutout innings, allowing two hits and 3 walks while
striking out seven. Augie Gallardo suffered the loss by giving up five runs on
five hits in five and a third innings. He falls to 3-3.
Tomorrow night, the Beach Bums and Washington Wild Things conclude
this week’s three-game series. John Havird gets the call for the Beach Bums and
Cameron Stanton starts for Washington. First pitch from Wild Things Park is at
7:05pm and the voice of the Beach Bums, Tom Willms, goes on the air at 6:45pm
with the Budweiser pre-game show, on 101.9- The Bay.
