WASHINGTON, PA – The Traverse City Beach Bums’(17-23) got the tying run on-deck in the ninth but fell to the Washington Wild Things(23-17), 6-1.

Much like last night, an early three-run home run got things rolling for the Wild Things. Tonight, it came in the first inning off of the bat of Hector Roa. In the fifth, Justin Bohn hit an RBI double then, in the sixth, John Fidanza drove in two with a single, giving Washington a six run advantage.

In the ninth, Kendall Patrick led off with a walk and Alexis Rivera drove him to third with a single to right. John Montgomery hit a chopper over the mound for an RBI infield single, scoring Patrick. Nick Patrick then walked, loading the bases with nobody out. Brook Clark though check-swung into a double play essentially ending the comeback attempt.

Brian O’Keefe earned the win for Washington to improve to 2-2 on the season. He hurled seven shutout innings, allowing two hits and 3 walks while striking out seven. Augie Gallardo suffered the loss by giving up five runs on five hits in five and a third innings. He falls to 3-3.
