Beach Bums Bring Back Nathanson
CRESTWOOD, IL—The Traverse City Beach Bums are happy to announce the addition of the teams’ all-time wins leader David Nathanson to its roster.
Nathanson will be in uniform and is slated to be the starting pitcher in tonights game against the Windy City Thunderbolts.
Nathanson, 26, is joining the Beach Bums for his fourth season after spending the early part of this season going 2-4 between Gary SouthShore and Grand Prarie of the American Association. The right handed pitcher originally signed with the Beach Bums back on June 29, 2007. The native of Maitland, FL compiled a 23-14 record spanning his three seasons in Traverse City. In nearly 400 innings with the club, Nathanson posted a 3.12 ERA and is expected to pitch out of the Beach Bums starting rotation, “We feel like Nathanson brings a lot of experience to the table,” said Beach Bums bench coach Jason Wuerfel. “We know he has ability to throw a lot of innings for us the rest of the season”.
In a corresponding move, the club announced on Wednesday that infielder Chase Burch had been placed on the seven-day disabled list due to back and wrist injuries.
The Beach Bums three-game series with the Windy City Thunderbolts continues Thursday night at 8:05 p.m. The Budweiser Pregame Show starts at 7:45 p.m. on Sunny Country 101.9 FM and streaming online through tcbeachbums.com.
