GAME DAY STAFF

At this time we are accepting standby applications for a limited number of positions for game day staff (concessions & housekeeping) for the 2009 season. All applicants should first check the 2009 Beach Bums schedule on this website, posted under Schedule, to make sure they will be available for the majority (a minimum -- 40 of the 48 games) before applying, and note on their applications games they would be unavailable for. Please note: actual employment will not begin until the start of the baseball season.
Wages start at $6.38/hour applicants 16 & 17 years old; $7.50/hour 18 & over.
Applicants are welcome to stop by Wuerfel Park offices, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and apply in person.

The Traverse City Beach Bums are currently seeking a part-time, seasonal Mascot. This position reports directly to the Director of Promotions and is responsible for but not limited to the following:
• Performing at all 2010 Beach Bums home games
• Performing at private parties, parades, festivals, grand openings, etc. on specified days during the week and on weekends throughout the year
• Performing at off-site community appearances
• Creating skits, dance routines, and other forms of mascot-related entertainment and crowd interaction
• Responsible for researching, creating and/or purchasing props and costumes for the mascot
• Assist with the marketing and scheduling the mascot program to generate revenue within company guidelines
Requirements:
• Due to costume restrictions, candidate must be at least 5 feet 9 inches and no more than 6 feet 2 inches and weighs between 165 lbs and 225 lbs
• Punctuality is mandatory and availability to work nights, weekends and holidays
• Must have own, reliable transportation
• Must be highly energetic and fit
Pay
• Mascots are paid by appearance on a sliding scale that takes into account the individual's level of experience and type of appearance

The Beach Bums actively pursue interns to fill various important positions within the organization. The Beach Bums purpose in utilizing internships are to provide students with the opportunity to gain experience, while utilizing the resources of the many energetic and innovative minds needing to prove themselves to the industry before securing a full-time job.
Internships with the Traverse City Beach Bums are paid positions but do not include housing.
Internships with the Beach Bums are full-time positions that run from May to September. Compensation: College credit is available plus $500/month.
