Have you ever wished you could have replaced Bob Barker instead of Drew Carey? Then come on down!
The Traverse City Beach Bums are currently looking for an on-field host for the 2012 baseball season!
Our on-field personality is a key component of the entertainment value at Wuerfel Park.
We are looking for the right individual, male or female, who has that personality.
Job duties include (but are not limited to):
• Live emcee for all on field events including promotions and contests during the game
• Must be comfortable with public speaking on a wireless microphone
• In charge of coordinating and assisting with all in-game on-field promotions
• Organization of contestants and props for each on-field promotion
• Responsible for energizing the crowd and contestants during all in game contests
• Must be comfortable working with children of all ages
• Must understand to logistics of a baseball game, from pre-game to post-game and every inning in between
• Must be available to work the Beach Bums 48-game home schedule with few exceptions
This position is game-day only during the season that runs from April - September.
A background in broadcasting, drama or comedy preferred but not required.
The Traverse City Beach Bums are seeking an outgoing, energetic individual to be the on-field host during the upcoming 2012 Season. Duties will include coordinating pregame events, play-by-play of the between inning sponsored contests, working with the game day promotions team and reporting to the Promotions Director. A background in broadcasting, drama or comedy preferred but not required.
Individual must be able to commit to:
48 Beach Bums home games scheduled from May 25 – September 4
* Pre-season practices
* "Beach Bums Nation Night" and other pre-season events.
The individual will be required to work at least 5 hours per gameday.
The ideal candidate must have:
* Outgoing and energetic personality
* Strong Communication Skills
* Performance art abilities a plus
* Understanding of the game of Baseball
* Experience behind the microphone in front of large audience
* An abundance of easily discernable confidence

TEAM MASCOT

The Traverse City Beach Bums are accepting resumes for the position of MASCOT -- either Suntan or Sunburn. This is a part-time, seasonal opening. This position(s) reports directly to the Director of Promotions and is responsible for the following:
• Performing at all 2012 Beach Bums home games
• Performing at private parties, parades, festivals, grand openings, etc. on specified days during the week and on weekends throughout the year
• Performing at off-site community appearances
• Creating skits, dance routines, and other forms of mascot-related entertainment and crowd interaction
• Responsible for researching, creating and/or purchasing props and costumes for the mascot
• Assist with the marketing and scheduling the mascot program to generate revenue within company guidelines
Requirements:
• Due to costume restrictions, candidate must be at least 5 feet 9 inches and no more than 6 feet 2 inches and weighs between 165 lbs and 225 lbs
• Punctuality is mandatory and availability to work nights, weekends and holidays
• Must have own, reliable transportation
• Must be highly energetic and fit
Pay
• Mascots are paid by appearance on a sliding scale that takes into account the individual__single__s level of experience and type of appearance

HOUSEKEEPING STAFF OPENINGS

The Traverse City Beach Bums are accepting applications for the 2012 SEASONAL (April through September) housekeeping staff (3 positions open). Pre-season stadium cleanup will start in mid-April and the balance of the work schedule will mirror the Beach Bums game schedule. Housekeeping staff will be expected to work a part-time or full-time schedule with work hours and days that vary each week (please see the Beach Bums home game schedule). Individuals must be motivated self-starters both able to work with others as well as solo.
Duties:
In addition to cleaning suites, restroom facilities and concession areas in stadium and clubhouse offices, restrooms and public areas, housekeepers will be responsible for replenishing all supplies and doing laundry as needed.
Training & Qualifications:
• High school diploma.
• Experience in housekeeping a plus.
• Must be a quick learner.
• POSITIVE attitude is essential.
• Previous housekeeping experience a plus but not necessary.
